Windows can also be integrated with an alarm system. AdamS offers windows equipped with factory-installed Siegenia fittings featuring magnetic contact sensors. These sensors, embedded in the windows or patio doors, serve as detectors for attempted break-ins.
How does it work? In the event of a break-in attempt, the magnetic contact sensor operating within a bimetallic field triggers the alarm when there is an attempt to open the window or move the locking rollers. The homeowner also receives a notification from the alarm system indicating which windows are not fully closed.
Magnetic contact sensors installed in windows can also help reduce energy consumption for home heating. When integrated with the heating system, the sensors detect when a window is opened and send a signal to the radiator’s electric valves, which then automatically shut off the heating — minimizing energy loss.
Thanks to the AEROCONTROL magnetic switch, HS windows and doors can be successfully integrated into monitoring systems or alarm control panels. The sensors operate as signaling elements and, depending on the type of switch, can monitor not only the open status but also the proper closing of the window or door. As a modern security solution, AEROCONTROL is also certified with VdS Class C approval.
Certain magnetic switches can connect, via a central building management system, to thermostats installed on radiators. This allows the radiator to automatically turn off when a window is opened, for example, to ventilate the room, resulting in reduced energy consumption.
